A florist is leaving random flowers in Swansea and Cardiff for people to take and make someone's day

A florist has been leaving flowers in random spots across south Wales with just one aim - to brighten up someone's day.

Annie James launched Bouquet Box in Skewen, Swansea , in January, an online business which makes special arrangements made to order.

The 27-year-old said she was often left with spare flowers which were of no use to her, as many of her boxes were made up of 16 flowers, leaving three or four spare every time.

She decided to use them to do something nice to brighten up people's days, wrapping flowers individually and leaving them on park benches or city centres, with a nice note with messages such as 'Whoever you are, this is for you. Hope it brightens up your day.'

"What I decided to do is give back to the local community, as there has been so much support," Miss James said.

"We decided to do a little something to brighten up people's days. I often go to Clyne Gardens to walk the dogs, and whilst I was there one day I thought, why not do a little something to let people know someone is thinking about them.

"It's just a little gesture made up of a little card saying 'read me' to get the attention, and a small rose wrapped in brown paper."

Flowers are being left all over south Wales, in Swansea, Cardiff , Newport , Bridgend , Port Talbot and anywhere else deliveries are made.

And the gesture, which has been taking place for just over a week so far, has had plenty of positive feedback from those who have found them.

Another reason we often buy flowers!

Why do we celebrate Mother's Day?

"It's had an overwhelming response," the business owner said.

"A lot of people have reached out and said how nice it was and how it brightened up their day.

"It's not about anything else other than brightening up people's days."
