From his very first collection in 2005, Erdem Moralioglu made floral prints a signature on flowing feminine dresses, worn by celebrities and royalty, particularly Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge.

The evocative motifs call to mind carnations, dahlias, orchids, pansies and other blooms. However, the London-based designer's crossover to cosmetics has created some "strange flowers" for a summer make-up collection in collaboration with edgy beauty brand Nars.
Bloodflower in cherry red, Voodoo Lily in muted lavender, Moon Orchid in light pink and Wild Flower in deep plum purple are among the six new shades of lipstick from the dreamy Erdem for Nars Strange Flowers collection, launched today in Thailand.
"It was really interesting to explore my aesthetic in collaboration with Nars, and see how far we could push different elements through colour and product," said Erdem. "It was fascinating to develop new pigments and palettes as well as the cosmetics themselves."
His original floral prints appear on the white cases of the lip powder and eyeshadow palettes as well as the cushion case compact.
Four matte and metallic shades of the novel lip powder along with a priming balm come together in the Poison Rose palette. They can be worn alone or layered -- with or without the primer -- for different looks on the lips.
Likewise, various effects can be created by layering the six eyeshadows in the Fleur Fatale and Night Garden palettes. The shimmer can be enhanced with the Multi-Use Highlighting Pencil, also used to give cheeks extra glow after a sweep of the blush in strawberry or lavender pink with a pearlescent finish. The limited editions also include blotting papers in packaging with Erdem's pretty floral print, mattify the skin in hot summer months.
