A flame of hope shines for the Tokyo Olympics

The Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games held an event at the National Stadium on Thursday, one year before the Tokyo Olympics is scheduled to open.

Rikako Ikee, 20, a competitive swimmer who has leukemia, sent a message to the world while holding the Olympic flame in a lantern, saying, "One year from now, I hope the flame of hope will shine in this place."
