'A fire waiting to happen': Hundreds of cannabis plants discovered by police

Hundreds of cannabis plants have been uncovered by police in Bolton, who busted a door down to find a huge farm.

More than 300 plants were discovered by officers in Sheldon Close, Farnworth, at 'various stages of growth'.

The electricity meter had been bypassed said the officers, who branded it 'a fire waiting to happen'.

But police have thanked the public for their help with finding the farms, saying 'another morning and another door goes in'.

The electrics were bypassed (GMP)

The farm is being dismantled and enquiries have been made.

Officers from Greater Manchester's Bolton South neighbourhood team said: "Another morning and another door goes in by the #IntelUnit. This time, officers force entry to an address on Sheldon Close in Farnworth.

"Inside we’re a total of 328 plants at various stages of growth. The electricity meter had been bypassed and when you consider the electrics in general at this address, this was a fire waiting to happen.

"Officers are continuing with enquiries along with the hard work of dismantling this farm.

"We couldn’t do this without the help of the public. Thank you."
