A dog friendly movie screening is happening in Dublin and we're pawsitively excited

A dog friendly movie screening is happening in Dublin and we can’t wait!

So, bring your little pawtner in crime to the screening of Marona’s Fantastic Tale at the Odeon in Point village on March 7 at 11am.

The synopsis of the film reads: “Told through exquisite animation and the eyes of a lost puppy, the film tells the story of a dog who, following an accident, reflects on her owners, adventures and experiences.”

The event comes as part of the Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival (DIFF) 2020.

This year’s festival will take place from February 26 to March 8.

Film fanatics will have the chance to catch some of the best and most creative movies by mainstream and indie filmmakers.

And this year, the festival has invited students from across Ireland to submit their short films for public screening and a competition which will be judged by Trish Long, the vice president of Disney in Ireland.

There will also be the Fantastic Flix which includes a mix of short films, workshops and discussions, and screenings of some of the most eagerly anticipated contemporary cinema.

You’ll also have the chance to catch Pixar’s newest fantastic drama Onward which stars big names like Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, and Octavia Spencer in an engaging tale of two siblings who set out to discover if there is still some magic left in the world.

Gráinne Humphreys, festival director, said: “We consider our festival as a perfect opportunity to give young people a compelling context to connect with films, providing access to a greater range of cultural cinema and filmmaking talent through a unique festival experience.

“The expectation for young audiences now is that viewing will be on demand, viewable anywhere and available for free.  Our programming offers an opportunity and environment to experience film and cinema that is different to the majority of current young people’s viewing habits.”

Early bird season tickets for the DIFF 2020 are now available online.
