'A disgraceful mess' entire campsite with tents and chairs left dumped on Queen's Scots estate

Shocked workers at the Queen's Scots estate have discovered a whole campsite left dumped- just weeks after warning about people going to the toilet on the site.

Camping chairs, a trolley, a campfire, rucksacks as well as five tents have been apparently abandoned on the Balmoral estate, near Braemar in Aberdeenshire.

Fuming bosses have tweeted about the find - urging visitors to 'leave no trace'.

Last month Balmoral chiefs said they had been discovering 'increasing quantities of human waste' left about the sprawling estate.

Disgusting pictures were released of discarded wipes lying about and advice was issued to walkers.

The coronavirus lockdown has forced the closure of local toilets - meaning desperate punters are using the outdoors as a toilet.

But people continued to break into the toilets meaning Aberdeenshire council bosses had to tape them off. Tweets from the Balmoral Estate account on the campsite mess read: "Please camp responsibly and leave no trace! Not like this group.

"This was found this morning. Hopefully they will return and tidy up."

Angry locals have since hit out online.

One wrote: "OMG what's wrong with people? They've been locked down too long and have emerged as animals!"

Another wrote: "They must really love Scotland if they leave it in a state like that.

"Time to start employing wardens to check up on people and heavily fine those who leave litter and light ridiculous size "camp" fires."

Another added: What a disgraceful mess! This is what ruins things for everyone else."
