A delightful history of Bill Murray, college basketball superfan

Actor Bill Murray has a legitimate case as the biggest celebrity sports fan in the world.

He’s attended golf tournaments and played in a bunch of pro-ams while dressed in some of his attire company’s amazing clothes. The Chicago Cubs die-hard was the happiest when they won the World Series in 2016.

And he’s been at a couple of NCAA tournaments in the past as well as other assorted college hoops contests. On Thursday, he was on hand with one of his brothers to watch Minnesota play Louisville in the first round of the 2019 tourney because his son Luke is a Cardinals assistant:

In 2016, he was spotted at Xavier games for the same reason — Luke used to be an assistant for the Musketeers:

That means he had to watch his son’s team lose to Wisconsin thanks to the Bronson Koenig buzzer-beater.

He was back watching Xavier hoops later that year and snapping pictures with Baylor players:

And here he was back at the tourney in 2017 when Xavier had its magical run

And last year, the man who lives in Charleston, South Carolina cheered on the College of Charleston before he held a baby while watching Xavier the 2018 tournament:

A legend on the screen AND in the stands.
