Chelsea will be looking to pick up where they left off following the international break when they lock horns with Newcastle United at St James' Park a-week-on-Saturday.
The Blues recorded a fourth successive win in all competitions at the weekend, defeating lowly Sheffield United 4-1 at Stamford Bridge, thanks to goals from Tammy Abraham, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and the in-form Timo Werner.
That win, which extended Chelsea's unbeaten run in the Premier League to six matches, meant they ended the weekend in fifth place, just one point shy of the top-four and three points behind table-toppers Leicester City.
Once the Premier League campaign resumes following the international break next weekend, Chelsea will be looking to maintain their strong run of form ahead of a busy period, with fixtures in both the Premier League and the Champions League to come in a hectic schedule.
With that in mind, Frank Lampard, who will no doubt be pleased with the progress his side has made following an indifferent start to the campaign, will be eager to have as many players available to him as possible, with the tight turnaround between matches expected to be a strain for any squad.
Fortunately, as things currently stand, Chelsea have been lucky on the injury front so far this season, with no players having suffered long-term injury blows, though Christian Pulisic is currently going through a stop-start situation with a hamstring complaint.
Chelsea's most long-term absentee has been young midfielder Billy Gilmour, who has been sidelined since July with a serious knee injury.
But on a positive front, Gilmour was spotted making a return to training at the very end of last month as the Blues prepared for their 3-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.
Prior to that, Lampard had confirmed that he hoped to have the Scottish youngster available for selection towards the end of November.
The Blues boss said: "He’s working outside on his own with the physios still, we hope that he’ll integrate with either ourselves or the Under-23s to get some training minutes.
"So hopefully three or four weeks, probably the other side of the next international break all being well."
Now, Gilmour appears to be a step closer to making a return to the first-team fold after Chelsea released a video on Tuesday morning of the midfielder in action on the training ground once again.
The video captured Gilmour firing home two long-range efforts beyond goalkeeper Willy Caballero, with his Blues teammates applauding the impressive strikes.
And it wasn't just the Chelsea players that were impressed by Gilmour's finishing technique as no shortage of Blues supporters took to social media to heap praise on the shoulders of the 19-year-old.
