Manchester United and England goalkeeper Dean Henderson has been continually linked with a move away from Old Trafford, which would enable him more frequent first team action.
The 24-year-old has seen chances limited so far this season after both the impressive form shown by David de Gea and the unfortunate after-affects of a lengthy Covid-related lay-off.
With Spurs potentially casting their net over to the north west as a potential replacement for Frenchman Hugo Lloris, fans have reacted to the news.
Henderson has only played a two games for the Reds so far this season, despite signing a new six-year deal just last year.
After spending successive loans spells with Sheffield United from 2018-2020, the United academy graduate intended to stick with his boyhood club in order to challenge de Gea for the No. 1 jersey.
But with the Spaniard in terrific form so far this season, starting in all of United's 17 league games, Henderson is said to be frustrated at a lack of game time.
Spurs have been rumoured to be interested in the Whitehaven-born shot-stopper, and some fans have taken to social media to react to the links being made...
@r_agv began by comparing him to Spurs' current goalkeeping options stating: ''He's better than Gollini.''
@bash011 again drew comparisons between the England international and Hugo Lloris adding: ''He's a really good young, homegrown keeper. If we can extend Lloris as well and have them compete for the spot then I'm happy.''
@MurphysDad however disagreed, as he posted: ''If Hugo is leaving he's a decent shout, if not he ain't coming here.''
@ninjomat again questioned the thinking behind the links, by commenting: ''He’s a really good keeper. But he’s not gonna get any more minutes here than he would at United, at least not this season. Only way this makes sense is if we’re not planning to renew Lloris and we use a loan as a trial for the first choice next season.''
And finally, @LoudKingCrow would be happy to see the popular French figure leave to be replaced by the United keeper, as he said: ''Henderson would be a decent heir to Hugo's crown, as sad as it would be to see Hugo go.''
