Buses bosses in Edinburgh say there'll be no services across the capital tonight, after what they're calling a spate of "escalating incidents" and "anti-social behaviour".
It means no Lothian Buses will depart terminal points from 7:30pm, but Night Bus services are expected to continue as normal.
Last night we told you how 18 thugs had been arrested after a number of services were allegedly targeted with large stones resulting in their windows being smashed.
Drivers say they're living in fear and warn it's only a mater of time before someone is seriously injured.
One, who wishes to remain anonymous, has today told the Record: "Going to work especially on a backshift, just fills you with anxiety cause you just don’t know what lies ahead.
"Most of Edinburgh is terrorised by groups of up to 10-20 youths every single night without fail. I see it with my own eyes.
"They turn the engines off, abuse the drivers and obviously as reported the past couple weeks smash the windows.
"As a driver our priority is the passenger safety and it scares me to think what could go wrong should a brick come through the window and hit someone. A death one day is almost certain."
In a statement on Facebook, the company said: "All journeys across Edinburgh which are due to depart terminal points after 19.30hrs will not operate tonight as a result of escalating incidents of antisocial behaviour which are putting the safety and wellbeing of our drivers and customers at risk.
"This applies to evening services only - NightBus services are expected to operate as normal.
"We understand that we provide a critical service for key workers and those for whom travel is essential which makes this decision even more regrettable, and so we apologise to those who will be inconvenienced as a result.
"Our advisers will be available on social media outwith our normal 9am-5pm working hours to assist those this evening who may be affected by this change where possible.
"We’d like to thank Police Scotland for their assistance, and our colleagues and customers for their continued support."
