A 'Death Café' is coming to Liverpool for one night only as part of LightNight 2019

LightNight returns to Liverpool next week with a huge night filled with art - and a special Death Café.

Taking over Liverpool Cathedral on Friday, May 17, two installations will transform the space: Ad Finitum: The Invisible Choir and Death Cafe.

Death Café is considered to be a “place where people from all walks of life can gather, share and discuss their perspectives in a friendly and informal setting”.

Huge outdoor cinema experience coming to Liverpool's Speke Hall with Dirty Dancing and Bohemian Rhapsody

The café is centred on death rituals and their ubiquity, and gives people the chance to make the experience of death more personal, where they can come together and talk about death, dying and all the rest.

Ad Finitum: The Invisible Choir is an atmospheric concert set to take place ahead of the café opening, featuring new choral arrangements by composer Rory Ballantyne.

Liverpool city centre has a new Greggs on Lord Street - take a first look inside

The dynamic arrangement will journey audiences through uplifting and emotional pop, rock, ancient folk, classical and experimental songs which explore ideas around death and dying.

Death Café is open from 7:15pm to 8:45pm on May 17.
