A cyclist was left with a fractured spine and legs after being struck by car in Littleborough

A cyclist was left with fractured legs and spine after being struck by a car in Littleborough.

The 56-year-old woman was struck by a black Seat Ibiza on Todmorden Road, at the junction with Dean Head, on Monday, July 29.

She was taken to hospital in the air ambulance where she remains receiving treatment.

In a statement police said her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences at the scene.

PC Kevin Hughes, of GMP’s Road Policing Unit, said: “A woman was seriously injured in this collision and my thoughts are with her as she recovers in hospital.

“Although arrests have been made, our enquiries are very much ongoing and I would urge anyone who has any information that may assist our investigation to please get in touch.

“We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage of around the time of the   incident.”

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs and serious injury by dangerous driving.

The second man, aged 23, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

Both men have been released under investigation.
