A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a collision in Manchester city centre

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a collision in Manchester city centre.

The man was injured following the incident involving a Hyundai i30 on Trinity Way this evening.

Police were called at 6.50pm to the collision.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and assisted police.

No arrests have been made, a GMP spokesman said.

They said: "Police received a report of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist at 6.50pm on Trinity Way.

"The road was closed by traffic officers while the victim's injuries were assessed."

Transport for Greater Manchester said Trinity Way was closed anti-clockwise between Irwell Street and Water Street.

The road has now been re-opened.
