A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas – review

This is an amazing fairy tale re-telling of Beauty and The Beast, set in an epic world of fantasy. Feyre’s family is unfortunately poor and living off what they can, and one day Feyre goes hunting and kills a faerie disguised as a wolf. When Tamlin (the dead faerie’s master) discovers this, he drags Feyre back to the enchanted court in the faerie kingdom, beyond the forest where nobody ventures.

I couldn’t put the book down, and I also grew extremely attached to the characters (even the evil ones). Our main character is Feyre, a headstrong young woman who has provided everything for her family. Even when she is claimed by the faeries, she still has hope that she will see her family once again. At the beginning of the book, Tamlin is an enemy to Feyre, but he soon becomes more than that by showing he cares about Feyre and his kingdom.

Court of Thorns and Roses

I completed this book in two sittings, which shows how much I loved it: the story is very fast paced and will leave you on the edge of your seat! An amazing start to the new upcoming series !
