A Coronation Street fan has re-imagined Kevin Webster's running as a scene from Trainspotting - and it's genius

Coronation Street fans gasped when Kevin Webster raced around the cobbles to rescue his son Jack from a burglar - and someone has now re-imagined the scene as as a Danny Boyle film.

Kevin's dramatic running from Friday night's episode of Corrie has been set to Iggy Pop's Lust For Life, the intro music from Danny's 1996 film Trainspotting.

'Baby Orange' explained on Twitter: "I have reimagined Michael Le Vell's iconic scene from Coronation Street last night as though it was guest directed by Danny Boyle."

"This is brilliant," said one fan.

"Genius" said the Coronation Street Blog.

The high speed sprint around the street ended with Kevin taking a painful-looking fall onto the cobbles - and as he slammed onto the street his mobile phone went flying.

Many fans thought the fall, before he reached Jack, looked so realistic it was probably unplanned.

"Was the fall meant to happen or was it natural and they left it in?" tweeted one viewer.

"It's great acting. Put his body on the line m8," commented another.

"Haha. Hell of a tumble though wasn't it. I grimaced," wrote another fan.

And another said: "Yeah defo not planned. Must have tore his knees to bits. Phone smashed too."

Shifty solicitor Paula Martin, who is dating Kevin's daughter Sophie, later confessed that she knows the burglar.

The thug thought the house was empty but didn't realise Jack was home alone hiding under the bed and he texted his dad for help.

When he was arrested apologetic Paula explained the burglar is a criminal she’s been acting against in a case and she has unwittingly involved Sophie and her family.
