A Complete Timeline Of The Beckham Family Feud: Wedding Spats, IG Snubs & Proxy Wars

beckham-FAMILY-FEUD-TIMELINE

The Beckham family’s years-long feud reached its apex this week when Brooklyn Beckham divulged all the deets of the beef in a shocking six-page rant on Instagram.

It marked the most direct acknowledgment of a feud that had previously been whispered about in tabloids or obliquely referenced by members of the famous family.

So if you’re wondering exactly what led us here, you’re not alone. The quarrel has been dotted by bizarre tangents, sibling in-fighting and at least one claim of “inappropriate” dance moves. Get yourself up to speed with a complete timeline of the Beckham family feud below.

April, 2022: Brooklyn marries Nicola Peltz

All roads in the feud seemingly lead back to Brooklyn’s 2022 marriage to actress and Wendy’s heiress Nicola Peltz. Reported tensions emerged in the lead up to the Palm Beach nuptials, including sources who claimed a “cold war” had erupted between Nicola and Victoria Beckham

“[They] can’t stand each other and don’t talk,” a source told Page Six, adding that Victoria was annoyed at Brooklyn posting a magazine cover that referred to Nicola as “the New Mrs. Beckham”.

Rumblings grew after Nicola’s decision to wear a Valentino wedding dress and not one designed by Victoria. “I was going to [wear Victoria Beckham] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” Peltz told Variety at the time.

October, 2022: Brooklyn and Victoria deny feud rumours

The wedding dress, and indeed what went on at the ceremony, spawned an avalanche of feud rumours. Nicola directly addressed them, telling The Times “it’s not a feud” and admitting it all stemmed from her wedding dress.

“I was really excited to wear [Victoria’s] dress. It makes me sad when I read things that people say I was never planning on wearing it. That’s just not true,” Nicola said. Brooklyn also denied the reports, saying “everyone [in the family] gets along, which is good”.

February, 2023: Peltz lawsuit over wedding planner

A proxy war emerged in early-2023 after Nicola’s dad, Nelson Peltz, filed a lawsuit against two wedding planners who were let go weeks before the ceremony. Nelson alleged that he never received his deposit back, with the wedding planners filing a countersuit that was ultimately settled by September, 2023.

March – October, 2023: The family puts on a united front

By mid-2023, the rumours hadn’t died down, but the family put on a united front with various outings. Brooklyn and Nicola attended Victoria’s Paris fashion show in March, 2023, with Victoria sharing a family shot with the caption, “I love you all so much”.

Earlier that year, Victoria wished Nicola a “lovely day” in a birthday message on Instagram.

A few months later, Brooklyn, Victoria and Nicola were all snapped smiling and posing on the red carpet of David Beckham’s Netflix premiere for Beckham. Brooklyn’s brothers, Romeo and Cruz Beckham, also attended the event.

February, 2024: The family attends Nicola’s movie premiere

The good vibes seemingly continued into the new year, with Cruz, Victoria and Brooklyn all attending the premiere of Lola, Nicola’s directorial debut. Nicola wore a custom Victoria Beckham look for the event. “We could not be more proud of you,” Victoria wrote in a post-premiere IG post, with Nicola replying “love you beyond”.

March – April, 2025: The Beckham brothers implode

The Beckham family enjoyed a period of relative tabloid silence until early-2025, when reports of a sibling fall out erupted. Some claim Brooklyn feuded with Romeo over the latter’s new GF, Kim Turnbull, who apparently had a previous entanglement with Brooklyn.

Cruz later came to Romeo’s defence on IG, claiming Kim and Brooklyn were never together. Kim reiterated that denial in 2025, claiming on social media that she had “never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question”.

May, 2025: Brooklyn and Nicola skip David’s 50th birthday

Turnbull’s presence at David’s 50th birthday was reportedly behind Nicola and Brooklyn’s notable absence at the London celebrations. Insiders claimed the duo were invited to the star-studded bash but were left out entirely. Victoria shared a snap of the party with Brooklyn and Nicola nowhere to be seen.

“Brooklyn didn’t want to be in the same room as [Kim], and he told his dad that, but David opted to have Kim there over Nicola,” a source said of the birthday guest list.

June, 2025: Brooklyn and Nicola hire crisis management team

By mid-2025, tabloid interest in the family feud had been reinvigorated in the wake of David’s 50th birthday. Brooklyn and Nicola reportedly hired the same crisis management team used by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to handle the renewed media scrutiny.

August, 2025: Vows renewed without Beckham family

Another glaring absence arrived in August, 2025, when none of the Beckhams were present at Nicola and Brooklyn’s vow renewal. 200 guests reportedly attended the NYC ceremony, with Brooklyn apparently also omitting his parents from his “heartfelt speech” at the event.

Around the same time, the entire Beckham family was pictured on a yachting holiday in Saint Tropez, with neither Brooklyn nor Nicola present.

December 2025: Social media manoeuvres

There were rumblings of social media tactics between the brothers throughout much of 2025. In July, Cruz was caught sharing brutal IG Notes describing Brooklyn as a “fraud” and a “dick”, before he again got a swipe in with shade directed Nicola’s way. However, the social media manoeuvres reached all-out war by December, 2025

That month, Cruz denied rumours that he and his parents had unfollowed Brooklyn, instead claiming Brooklyn had blocked them all. “My mum and dad would never unfollow their son … Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked … as did I,” Cruz wrote on his IG Stories.

Also in December, fans discovered that Nicola no longer followed her in-laws on IG.

New year, same feud. In January, it was reported that Nicola and Brooklyn sent their family a cease and desist letter requesting that they stop tagging the pair in social media posts. The legal move also demanded that the Beckhams only contact the couple through lawyers, according to reports.

Those reports came after a series of olive branches seemingly extended to Brooklyn by his parents. David gave a social media shoutout to Brooklyn in January, after omitting him from an earlier 2026 recap post. Victoria reshared that pic of Brooklyn and David, but in his own 2026 recap, Romeo snubbed Brooklyn entirely.

January, 2026: Brooklyn exposes family feud with explosive IG rant

Everything came to a head this week with a bombshell six-page rant shared by Brooklyn. The post — which Brooklyn said he had “no choice but” to share — mentioned many of the touchpoints referenced above, including the wedding that kickstarted it all.

Brooklyn accused Victoria of retracting her plans to dress Nicola for the wedding “in the eleventh hour”. He also claimed Victoria “hijacked” the event by replacing Nicola for a scheduled dance with the groom, after which Victoria allegedly “danced inappropriately on me in front of everyone”.

The wedding mess, according to Brooklyn, was behind his and Nicola’s vow renewal, since they wanted to “create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment”. Victoria also called Brooklyn “evil” for not seating her and David at the bridal party table, the post claimed.

Elsewhere in the post, Brooklyn claimed his parents “repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe” him into “signing away the rights to” his name before his wedding. “My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since,” Brooklyn wrote.

No other members of the Beckham family have responded to Brooklyn’s post at the time of writing. But something tells me they will, and that this timeline may extend for some time to come. Watch this space.
