A company owned by LeBron James has filed a trademark for ‘Taco Tuesday’ according to reports

Taco Tuesday was always a thing. But if we’re being fair, LeBron James took the weekly celebration of this traditional Mexican dish consisting of tortillas and pure joy to a whole new level on social media recently. As we’ve documented, the Taco Tuesday posts with the James Gang on Instagram and Twitter have gone viral on a regular basis. LeBron and his family have also inspired celebrities around the world to participate in this social media fiesta by hollering out ‘Taco Tuesday’ at the top of their lungs.

Now, according to a report from Darren Rovell, LeBron has filed to trademark the phrase “Taco Tuesday” for social media posts as well as a future show based on that name.

In Rovell’s report, he references trademark lawyer, Josh Gerben, who offered the following details.

“A company owned by LeBron James, LBJ Trademarks LLC, has filed a trademark for Taco Tuesday,” Gerben wrote. “The filing indicates LeBron intends to continue offering his popular ‘Taco Tuesday’ posts on social media and launch a podcast under the name.”

In the video that accompanied Gerben’s Twitter post, he mentions that the trademark was initially filed on August 15 and is just showing up in national databases today.

What’s particularly interesting to note is the reference to a potential podcast hosted by the King dedicated to tacos down the line. This would be LeBron’s first venture into the food or cooking show space, and it would be particularly interesting to see how his team approaches that type of content in the future. LeBron in a chef’s hat could be a good place to start.
