A college football team’s mascot got flagged for an unsportsmanlike penalty

Well, this is something I have never seen before – Jackson State’s mascot got flagged for a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty in Sunday’s game against Bethune-Cookman.

Yup, that actually happened. What a wild weekend for college football.

This all occurred after Jackson State’s Jordan Johnson hauled in a long touchdown pass. There was a bit of a pileup after the catch, which included Jackson State’s Tiger mascot, who excitedly ran over to the action and tried to pull players off his wide receiver.

That didn’t go over well at all with the refs, who threw the flag on the mascot because this is college football and no fun is allowed.
