A Co-op store in Chorlton is closing next month, with workers' jobs at risk.
The shop, on Barlow Moor Road,opposite a parade of shops and restaurants, is expected to close at the end of next month.
A spokeswoman for the retailer said bosses are not planning on renewing the lease on the property, which is due to expire soon.
It is thought around 25 jobs are at risk, with the shop to due shut on November 30.

The spokeswoman said efforts are being made to offer staff roles at other stores.
An employee, who asked to remain anonymous, said there is uncertainty among workers.
"I never thought there would be a day when they would make us redundant," they said.
"There has been no offer. We have always been told if a store closure happens, the Co-op offer you work elsewhere."
A spokeswoman for Co-op said: “The Co-op is moving forward with a real purpose and momentum and, while this often involves the opening of new stores, we sometimes have to take difficult decisions.
"The decision to close any store is not taken lightly. The lease on our Barlow Moor Road store is expiring and it is not viable to carry out the level of investment needed to update and improve this site.
"This is in no way a reflection on the hard work of our valued colleagues, who have been informed and are being fully supported, with every effort being made to retain them in other stores in the area wherever possible.”
There are currently four Co-op shops in the Chorlton area, with two located on Barlow Moor Road, another on Beech Road and one branch on Wilbraham Road.
