Dramatic video shows a car engulfed in flames moments after it had been involved in a crash and the occupants fled.
It is believed the car had been involved in a chase with another vehicle through south Manchester before it ended in a collision on a suburban street in Burnage just before 2am.
A police investigation is underway.
The crash happened on Asquith Road, near Western Circle, just before 1.50am on Monday.
Firefighters were called and found one of the vehicles engulfed in flames.
The occupants of both cars had fled the scene.
Firefighters tackled the intense blaze while wearing breathing gear and remained at the scene for about an hour.
There are no reports of any injuries.
A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police appealed for anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.
"Enquiries are ongoing," she said.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 1.53am on Monday, 29 March, firefighters were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Asquith Road, in Manchester.
"One fire engine from Withington quickly attended the scene. Upon arrival firefighters found one vehicle was well alight.
"Fire crews used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish the fire. Firefighters were in attendance for approximately one hour."
