A car was vandalised in a Manchester street... 20 minutes later, a gunman shot at a house

A gunman shot at the window of a house shortly after a car was vandalised.

The two incidents, a few miles apart in Manchester, are being linked by detectives.

In the first incident at 11.10am on Sunday November 24, police were called to Northerly Crescent, Moston, after a car was vandalised.

About 20 minutes later, the window of a house in Tideswell Avenue was blasted. The shooting was just a few hundred yards from a nursery.

No one was injured in either incident.

An investigation is underway and, so far, no arrests have been made.

Police are now appealing for witnesses - or anyone else with information - to contact them.

Detective Inspector Jen Tattersall, of GMP’s City of Manchester division, said: “Clearly, these incidents have caused concern in the area but I would like to reassure local residents that we believe they are targeted and we are doing everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.

“I would really like to hear from anyone who witnessed either incident, saw or heard anything suspicious or has any information about vehicles which may have been involved.

“If you can help us with our investigation, please contact us as a matter of urgency.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 1146, quoting incident number 1275 of 24/11/19.

Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 1111.
