Dublin car that has been illegally parked in the same spot for three weeks has finally been impounded by gardai

A car in Dublin, which has been illegally parked for almost a month, has finally been impounded by gardai.

The small, black Renault car has been left mounted on the grass near the long mile road for well over three weeks.

But, it has finally been impounded by Gardai who towed away the vehicle for more than just looking like it was abandoned on the road.

Four-month-old dog killed in Dublin hit and run with taxi in the early hours of Sunday morning

On Twitter, they confirmed that the car was being towed away as it was being used for the purpose of advertising for a nearby business.

They called the seizure 'Operation Sign-Off' and told their followers: "Dublin - Found parked on central median for purposes of advertising.

"This vehicle was impounded under Section 71 Roads Act 1993, Court proceedings to follow."

One Dublin councillor asked if there "is a section to RTA that permits Gardai to do the same for a car parked in a cycle lane?"

Another added that the car "had previously been parked at the entrance of the estate opposite of the fuel station for months... glad it’s gone."
