A Bunch Of People Were Kicked Out Of The Met Gala, Including A Celeb Stylist & Influencers

It’s no secret that the Met Gala is one of the most exclusive events on the celebrity calendar. The guest list is highly curated, and the Met Gala, associated events and locations are filled with security personnel. That’s why it wasn’t entirely surprising to hear that multiple people were kicked out of the luxurious event.

However, while some people were kicked out for good reason, others were just trying to do their jobs.

According to Page Six, celebrity stylist Jessica Paster was heading back into the Carlyle hotel just hours before the Met Gala carpet was due to kick off when she was allegedly “manhandled” by New York Police.

In a video captured on a livestream set up by Reuters, Paster was seen attempting to get into the hotel where her clients attending the Met Gala — Simone Biles, Quinta Brunson and Miranda Kerr — were staying. As she approached the hotel, cops are seen gathering towards and restraining Paster as she yelled, “I’m staying at this hotel”.

Paster then attempted to head towards another door of the hotel when she was forcibly grabbed and dragged away before a hotel employee intervened.

In an interview with Page Six, the acclaimed stylist claimed she was just trying to follow the instructions given to her by police when they acted in an overzealous way.

“I want to say that I am just a person staying at a hotel, minding my own business, having the credentials on my wrist, and I got manhandled,” she told Page Six.

“I listened to people. They said go through the service door, and when I did, they said go back to the lobby. And all of a sudden they attacked me, they manhandled me.”

Paster claimed that she was given a wristband to allow hotel access, which she flashed police, but they ignored her credentials. She also alleged that she was injured during the altercation.

“I am in a lot of pain. “She [the cop] is lucky she didn’t break my arms,” she said.

After getting back into the hotel, Paster went on to help create the gorgeous looks seen on Biles, Brunson and Kerr below.

In a statement to Page Six, a spokesperson gave the police’s perspective on the incident.

“Yesterday afternoon, a female attempted to enter the main entrance of the Carlyle Hotel when she was stopped and denied entry by hotel security,” the spokesperson said.

“The individual attempted to enter the hotel a second time after being denied when officers intervened and stopped the female from entering. She was told she needed to go through the service entrance and obtain proper credentials. This female was escorted to the service entrance by police, where she was then re-escorted to the main entrance by hotel security and allowed entry.”

Paster wasn’t the only person who had a run-in with security at the star-studded event.

Before the official Met Gala event began, influencers and model twins Sarah and Leah Maria Talabi reportedly found themselves in a bit of a pickle when they rocked up to the fundraiser without an invitation.

As they approached the blue orchid-covered carpet, the 25-year-old pair were caught by security and politely escorted out of the venue. On the way out, they were asked how they got into the exclusive event.

“Our team,” responded Leah.

Although they didn’t make it into the actual Met Gala, the pair shared their gorgeous outfits on Instagram to their combined following of more than three million followers.

“Met Monday✨📸#metgala” Sarah wrote, alongside a photo of the twins outside the Marks Hotel.

They also shared clips from the blue carpet featuring celebrities like Pharrell Williams and Blackpink’s Jennie.

Yes, admittedly, they weren’t invited, but I do respect the dedication they showed.

Ballsy!!!!
