Meg Stalter and Javier Bardem were among the celebs using the 2025 Emmys red carpet to call for a ceasefire in Gaza and to free Palestine, both on the red carpet and the awards stage itself.

Too Much and Hacks star Stalter led the early charge, carrying a bag with the words “CEASE FIRE!” emblazoned on it.
Later speaking to reporters on the carpet, Stalter — who plays Kayla in the buzzy comedy series — said it’s “most important to stick up for people and for peace”.
“We have to use our platforms. What’s the point of being at these big events if you’re not going to use your privilege?” she added.
Movie star Javier Bardem, who has long been vocal about the situation in Gaza, also called for peace while attending the Emmys as a nominee for Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
“Here I am today denouncing the genocide in Gaza,” Bardem said while wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh.
“How many hundreds of thousands of dead children need to suffer for people to wake up?” he added.
Bardem — who is competing against the likes of Peter Sarsgaard and Adolescence’s Owen Cooper in his category — also called for commercial and diplomatic blockades and sanctions to be placed on Israel.
Later, during the actual ceremony, Hacks star Hannah Einbinder used her acceptance speech to advocate for Palestine.
“Free Palestine,” the actress said while collecting the awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. “Fuck ICE,” she added, in reference to US President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.
Einbinder was also one of multiple Emmys guests to wear an Artists4Ceasefire pin while attending the ceremony.
The organisation was launched last year in response to the “humanitarian crisis unfolding in Israel and Palestine”.
The White Lotus nominees Natasha Rothwell and Aimee Lou Wood, Hacks creator Lucia Aniello, Abbott Elementary’s Chris Perfetti, and Ruth Negga were all seen wearing the pins.

The Hollywood calls for a ceasefire come after more than 1,300 actors and directors — including Emma Stone, Nicola Coughlan and Harris Dickinson — signed a pledge vowing not to work with Israeli film institutions they say are “implicated in genocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people”.
The 2025 Emmys are still underway in LA, with Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Seth Rogen (The Studio) and Tramell Tillman (Severance) already collecting awards. Check out our rolling coverage of the ceremony HERE.
