You’ll be able to dine in an actual bubble soon to ensure you can adhere to social distancing measures in a fun way.
Popular Leeds city centre shopping and retail centre The Light, based on the Headrow, will be hosting socially distanced bubble dining experiences over two weekends this month.
The Dining at a Distance pop up restaurant will see diners eating alfresco in their own inflatable dome. The unique experience, in response to the changes the coronavirus pandemic has brought to our lives, is designed for people who want to venture back into the world of dining out but are still a little wary.
Each bubble dome can seat up to six guests who can enjoy waiter service from a choice of restaurants in The Light. Options include Turtle Bay's bottomless brunch and Brown's menu amongst others.
Stephanie James, The Light’s marketing manager, said: “We’re really excited to launch our Dining at a Distance experience. We understand that many visitors might still be nervous at the thought of dining inside a restaurant, around other diners, which is why we wanted to create a social bubble restaurant experience.
“This new pop up restaurant will allow our guests to enjoy food from their favourite establishments and provide the table service experience that takeaways can’t offer - all without having to step foot inside the restaurant itself.”
To ensure that the experience is safe, each dome will be thoroughly cleaned between sittings, with waiting staff wearing masks and a track and trace system put into place.

The Dining at a Distance pop up restaurant will run on Friday, August 14, Saturday, August 15, Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22.
