A brand new Frozen short film is coming to Disney Plus

A brand new Frozen short film is heading to Disney+ this year.

Entitled Once Upon A Snowman, it will arrive to the streaming service exclusively on October 25.

The official Disney+ Twitter page announced the news, alongside a poster for the short which features Elsa using her magical powers on Olaf.

The story will explore Olaf's previously untold origins starting with his first steps as he comes to life and searches for his identity in the snowy mountains outside Arendelle and will see Josh Gad return to voice the snowman.

It follows up two other shorts set in the world of Frozen, including 2015's Frozen Fever which was screened in cinemas ahead of the live-action remake of Cinderella. A second short, Olaf's Frozen Adventure, was released in 2017 and shown ahead of Pixar's Coco in cinemas.

Both shorts received positive reviews from critics and featured new songs such as 'Making Today a Perfect Day', so Frozen fans can expect to hear new material.

Disney launched its streaming service in the UK back in March, with the highly-anticipated Frozen 2 being added in July. The platform is also home to animated classics, Marvel and Star Wars collections and Pixar favourites.

Customers can sign up for a free seven-day trial and then pay £5.99 per month or £59.99 per year.
