'A bit puzzling' Newcastle United fans all make the same comments about starting XI to face Wolves

Newcastle United fans have been left confused by Steve Bruce's starting XI to face Wolves.

The Magpie s boss has made four changes following last weekend's 4-1 defeat to Manchester United, with Joelinton, Emil Kraft, Isaac Hayden and Jonjo Shelvey coming out of the team.

Shelvey misses out through injury, whilst Hayden is amongst the substitutes alongside Kraft and Joelinton but was taken off in the first half of last weekend's clash.

The former Liverpool midfielder will miss a month of action after undergoing surgery on a hernia injury.

With that in mind, Bruce has seemingly moved back to a five-back formation, with Fabian Schar named in the XI alongside Federico Fernandez and Jamaal Lascelles, which would also match-up against Wolves system.

Equally, the Swiss international has featured in holding midfield and could be playing alongside Shelvey, with Jacob Murphy or Ryan Fraser at right-back.

Whilst Bruce has opted for a much more attacking personnel, with Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson, Murphy, Fraser and Miguel Almiron all starting, Newcastle fans are struggling to piece together how the team will set-up.

Here's what they had to say on social media about the team selection.

Newcastle have enjoyed some success on the road so far this term, beating West Ham on matchday one and drawing with Totteham Hotspur on their last away trip.
