Benidorm fans will all want to jet off to the Costa Blanca, when it is safe to do so, as a bar themed around the hit show is going to open in the Spanish resort.
Derren Litten, the man behind the long running ITV comedy is getting ready to open the doors on a bar which will encapsulate everything millions of viewers love about the show, with its name inspired by one of its most popular characters.
The bar, near to the popular Stardust and The Town clubs on Benidorm 's famous strip, is called Mateo's, after actor Jake Canuso's on-screen alias and the Solana hotel's resident barman and lothario.
And the Solana references don't end there either as the Mateo's decor will include plenty of well known TV sights and memorabilia including the bar top itself which is the Solana reception desk and the bar's karaoke area right next to a sign for Neptune's - the nightspot which has given us plenty of memorable performances on the show over the years.
And its cocktail menu is also full of nods to the TV show, which is shot in the nearby Sol Pelicanos hotel. Drinkers will be able sip on concoctions including the Madge - of course named after the mobility scooter-riding matriarch of the Garvey family.
Mateo's is set to open its doors from July 17 with a celebrity opening later in the year and with holidays to Spain from the UK to be allowed without the need for quarantine, it should prove very popular with Brits, including plenty of Geordies we're sure!
And one Geordie who could well be seen at the bar is Tim Healy, better known as receptionist Lesley in Benidorm, as he retweeted Derren's post about the Mateo's opening.
