A beer company opened a pop up bar for Munro baggers at the summit of Ben Lomond today

Munro baggers were treated to an unexpected pint on the summit of Ben Lomond today.

Innis & Gunn  opened the 'Innis & Gunn Brewery Top Room' at the Munro's summit today from 11.30am to 1pm.

Thirsty hill walkers were rewarded with an ice cold can of Innis & Gunn Lager to refresh them upon completing the mountain.

The location was chosen by the people of Glasgow as part of the “Your Call” Lager campaign the brand has been running over the last month.

Innis & Gunn said they were inspired to open up the pop-up bar after seeing fans of the beer enjoy a can at the top of mountains.

Robb Hamlin, Senior Brand Manager at Innis & Gunn, said:   "Seeing people enjoying your products is one of the most rewarding aspects of doing what we do, and we absolutely love to see our fans on social media enjoy a well-deserved can of our lager while they enjoy the incredible view from the top of a mountain.

"Now we’re obviously biased, but as views go the top of a Munro is pretty hard to beat, so we thought we’d have a bit of fun and surprise some climbers today and reward them with an ice-cold beer from our bar when they reach the top of Ben Lomond.

"Huge thanks to the people of Glasgow who helped us choose the location – you've done yourselves proud. Also thanks to our friends at the National Trust for giving us permission!"
