A bag of human poo was left with donated food in an Asda foodbank trolley

A bag of human excrement was among the items donated to a supermarket foodbank in a disgusting act.

It resulted the majority of items donated by shoppers at Asda in Llandudno having to be thrown in the bin, items which would have been given to families in need.

Homeless charity Bag of Hope runs the Bag of Hope foodbank which sees trolleys placed across businesses in Llandudno to encourage people to donate food.

Head of the charity Brenda Fogg told the Daily Post she was left "shocked and disgusted" that someone could do something so callous.

She said: "When we went to empty the trolley at Asda today, we noticed a carrier bag had been placed in there.

"We looked inside and the smell was disgusting, it was a bag of human faeces.

"It upset me because we are run off our feet at this time of year collecting the food so many people have graciously donated."

She added: "It was disgusting and horrible - especially when so many people are in need and we need all the donations we can get.

"Unfortunately, we had to throw a lot of the food away.

"Let's just hope that whoever did it, never has to rely on a food bank themselves one day."

People on social media decried the act, with person saying: "Who would even do that? It's disgusting. Let's hope they never have to use a food bank."

Others praised the efforts of charity volunteers to keep services such as this going.
