After eight years of rumours, A$AP Rocky has *finally* confirmed he’s dating his close friend and the queen of music, Rihanna. And I, for one, feel grateful to be around this energy.
Fans first began to ship A$AP – real name: Rakim Athelaston Mayers – and Robyn Rihanna Fenty in 2013 after the Fortnite-performing rapper opened for the U.S. dates of RiRi’s Diamonds World Tour. Flash forward to today where, after rumours upon rumours, we finally have confirmation that the power couple of rap, skincare and street-style fashion is officially on like Donkey Kong.
Speaking in a recent cover story for GQ, A$AP described Rihanna as “The love of my life. My lady.”
When asked what it’s like to be in a relationship, the Babushka Boi rapper then added that it’s “so much better when you got the One”.
“She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones,” he said.
“I think when you know, you know. She’s the One.”

A$AP Rocky also told the outlet that he’s ready to be a Baby Daddy and I’m sorry but the sheer reality of RiRi and him having offspring is too powerful.
“If that’s in my destiny, absolutely,” he said. “I think I’m already a dad!”
He continued: “Nah, but like, I think I’d be an incredible, remarkably, overall amazing dad. I would have a very fly child. Very.”
Frankly, I wholeheartedly agree. Step aside Will, Jada, Jaden, Trey and Willow, a new stylish AF celebrity family is coming.
Last year we heard a bit of conflicting information about the promising couple. For starters, after Rihanna split from her billionaire ex-boyfriend, Hassan Jameel, in January 2020 after three years of dating, The Sun claimed that they had seen her and A$AP ~together~, just as a source told E! News that they were just pals.
Then, RiRi invited Rocky to headline her new male underwear range, and the pair interviewed each other in a pair of extremely flirtatious videos for Vogue and GQ. Conspiracy theorists alike knew what was up tho, including me. Everything just felt too suss.
So, TL;DR: I’ve done my waiting. Eight years of it.
Rihanna has yet to publicly comment on her relationship status with A$AP Rocky but should we really expect a queen to talk to her people if not through her royal page and number one fan?
