
A man will appear in court on Thursday facing charges of firearm and drug possession following a search of his Bateau Bay home on Wednesday.
Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Drug and Anti-Theft Unit will allege they entered the Nisic Close, Bateau Bay home about 2pm to execute a search warrant.
During the search officers located a shortened .22 calibre rifle with ammunition, more than $3000 in cash, two kilograms of cannabis, a taser and steroids.
A 55-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with the following offences:
- Possess shortened firearm
- Not keep firearm safely
- Possess ammunition without permit/licence
- Supply prohibited drug
- Possess prohibited drug
- Possess prohibited weapon
- Possess prescribed restricted substance
- Deal with the proceeds of crime
He was refused bail and will appear in Wyong Local Court Thursday.
