‘A 400% Pay Increase’: How Much Do The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Get Paid Now?

dallas-cowboys-cheerleaders-season-two

Well folks, it’s time to bust out those pom-poms and dust off your cowboy hats, because we’re in for another helping of the Netflix show, America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

The first season of the seven-part docuseries landed on the streamer last year, and followed the highs and lows of an extremely flexible cheerleading bunch as they auditioned and trained to become a part of the NFL’s most prestigious cheer squad, the Dallas Cowboys.

The show was extremely popular upon its release, and probably led to more than a few of us practicing an (unsuccessful) toe-touch in the lounge room. If your cheer skills still aren’t up to scratch, then you’re in luck, because a second season of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is upon us.

When was Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders season two announced?

The sophomore instalment of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders was announced back in November, when the squad’s official social media page shared a teaser featuring count-offs, pom-poms and the promise of season two.

“Start stretching and get your high kick ready because AMERICA’S SWEETHEARTS: DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS is coming back to Netflix for season two”, the caption read.

Who will be in season two of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?

The cast for season two of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will feature an array of new and returning faces, from the coaches to members of the cheer squad itself.

On the upper-management front, Senior Director of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Kelli Finglass, will return for season two as the squad’s compass, with Judy Trammell also back on board as Finglass’ second-in-command and the head choreographer.

Fans of season one will recall a few familiar cheer squad members in the second instalment, including veterans like Armani Latimer, Chandi Dayle, Jada Mclean, KayDianna MacKenzie, Kayla Hayes, and Kleine Powell

They’ll be joined by fellow returning favourites Megan McElaney and Sophia Laufer, but since season one left off with a few spots vacant in the team, the new batch of episodes will feature new castmates, too.

That includes rookies like Abby Summers, Ariel Brumfield, Ava Lahey, Charly Barby, Clare Marie Kuebler and Cooper Maas, each of whom will spend season two vying for a place in the coveted spot. Dayton Bramhall, Jenna Waller, Kelly Villares and Madie Krueger round-out the batch of newcomers making a splash in season two.

How much does the squad make on Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?

The team’s pay was the subject of much chatter both on and off the show last season. (Image source: Netflix)

The topic of how much the squad earns reared its head in season one of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, when viewers were shocked to learn that some cheerleaders were on minimum wage, despite their tireless work.

Season one also featured discussions around the squad’s need to hold second and third jobs alongside their cheerleading work, including side and main hustles in nursing, orthodontics and floristry.

At the time, some reports estimated that Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders earn a salary of up to $112,000 (AUD) per year, though this didn’t exactly align with comments made on the show. Other reports estimated that the cheerleaders get paid around $750 (AUD) per game, meaning they would make around $15,000 (AUD) for an entire 18-week season.

“There’s a lot of cynicism around pay for NFL cheerleaders — as it should be,” Dallas Cowboys chief brand officer Charlotte Jones said in season one.

“They’re not paid a lot. But the facts are, they actually don’t come here for the money. They come here for something that’s actually bigger than that to them.”

In welcome news ahead of season two, it was recently reported that members of the squad are getting a whopping 400 per cent boost in pay for the upcoming 2025–26 season (!!!!). For those counting, that’s four times the reported $400 (AUD) per game the cheerleaders were said to be earning after season one.

“We pushed and we got back good results,” Latimer said in the seventh episode of season two, when news of the pay rise was revealed. “I get emotional knowing that I was a part of that.”

Is there a trailer for season two of Dallas Cheerleaders Cowboys?

The trailer for season two of Dallas Cheerleaders Cowboys landed on June 4, and promised high stakes, high drama, and even higher kicks

We were treated to new and familiar faces, locker room tea and enough splits to bring a vicarious pain to the crotch. Seriously, between gravity-defying flips and stretches that seem to bend the fabric of reality, these girls deserve that pay rise (and then some).

What is the release date of season two of Dallas Cheerleaders Cowboys?

The second season of Dallas Cheerleaders Cowboys landed at 5pm on Wednesday, June 18. All seven episodes of the season arrived at once, with each episode clocking in at around one hour. If I watch long enough, will I soon be able to do the splits?

Where can I watch season two of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?

Season two returns to its original home of Netflix, and it’s actually one of the streamer’s many original series. Before that, the squad got its time in the spotlight with the reality show Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team on CMT.

Now, however, you can catch all episodes of season two of Dallas Cheerleaders Cowboys currently streaming on Netflix. Go on, get those high-kicks in order!
