Ever wondered how people in the 1900s celebrated Halloween? Ever thought about what traditions they followed and what superstitions they had? Or what the traditional Halloween dinner was?
A historical family-friendly Halloween experience is coming to Dublin and it looks intriguing.
This Taste of Ireland event will be taking place on Wednesday from 1pm to 3.30 pm.
Visitors will be taken all the way back to 500BC when the Halloween festival first began and will learn about where the name originated amongst other exciting historical facts.
Next you will have the chance to discover how Irish people in the 1900s celebrated Halloween as well as old superstitions that people lived by.
But the most fun part will be the traditional Halloween meal which will feature dishes from the 1900s including Samhain stew, colcannon, and boxty pancakes amongst other things.
And finally at the end, you will get a 1900s style goodie bag with traditional Irish sweets from the 1900s.
