A ten-year-old girl was left needing stitches after ripping a chunk out of her thigh - on a health and safety sign.
Skylah Williams was visiting a play park with her family when she hurtled down a zip wire.
She the hit a warning sign advising that children under eleven should not use the equipment without parental supervision.
The sign sliced through her thigh and resulted in her parents rushing her to hospital on Sunday evening.
Doctors debated operating but a specialist eventually said they’d be happy to stitch the wound back.
Skylah's father counted around 12 stitches on her leg after the incident in Stithians, Cornwall.
Zara Eaton, Skylah’s mum, said the sign has since been removed from the zip wire.
She said: “Skylah was playing on the zip wire when I saw her go flying up in the air at the end and went crashing back into the post.
“I didn’t think anything serious had happened at first but when she let out a deathly scream, I knew something was wrong.
“I ran over to her and as she moved her hand away, I felt instantly sick. I picked her up and rushed over to my family, screaming to ring an ambulance.
''They couldn’t send one out as they were too busy, so myself and my partner and Skylah’s grandmother rushed her to A&E.”
A Stithians Parish Council spokesperson said the council are aware of the incident and that the matter is being investigated.
