'A 0-0 battering' - Leeds United fans rue their luck after Arsenal stalemate

Leeds United were left ruing missed chances after hitting the woodwork three times in a dominant display against Arsenal which ended 0-0.

The Whites were the best side throughout the first half but couldn't turn in one of their multiple half-chances to get a deserved lead.

In the second half, Arsenal were reduced to ten men after Nicolas Pepe headbutted Ezgjan Alioski.

Despite Marcelo Bielsa throwing on Rodrigo Moreno and Ian Poveda alongside his other attackers, Leeds couldn't find that all-important breakthrough.

Rodrigo hit the bar with a sumptuous curling effort that left Bern Leno motionless before Patrick Bamford hit the post with a header.

Raphinha was then denied with a shot from an acute angle from close range that rattled the woodwork which proved to be the final of Leeds' 24 attempts on goal.

Here's how Leeds supporters reacted to the draw.

On the positive side for Leeds, Kalvin Phillips completed the 90 minutes unscathed, whilst Raphinha looked sharp in his first Premier League start of the season.

There was also a clean sheet for a back five that had conceded eight goals in their previous two outings, which will no doubt help their confidence ahead of two tricky matches against Everton and Chelsea in the next fortnight.

The result leaves Leeds 14th in the table with three fixtures left to be played this weekend, with 11 points from their opening nine matches.
