99 Days by Katie Cotugno – review

Apologies to Katie Cotugno but this is going to be a harsh one. Initially I thought, okay, so girl goes away after doing something stupid. Girl comes back, learned from her mistakes, ready to make amends. But then girl turns around and essentially shoots everyone in the back again. I guess old habits don’t die.
Molly Barlow murdered her relationship with her boyfriend Patrick when she did the dirty with Patrick’s older brother Gabe. She was exposed by the person closest to her, her mother. Being a responsible teenager, Molly chose to run away; very grown up. When she returned, she encountered individual reunions with all her prior friends and even made a couple of new ones. During this summer, Molly really found who she was and what she wants to be.
Personally I think 99 Days is all about your first love and the power they have over you. Only when you out of their grasp, can you realise what your desires truly are. I liked the moral and message behind the story, but the plot and characters just weren’t for me.
