A 93-year-old man was killed in a crash Wednesday in south suburban Matteson.
Shawkat Rafati was involved in a crash about 12:05 p.m. at Vollmer Road and Odyssey Boulevard, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead about three hours later at Franciscan Health in Olympia Fields.
An autopsy ruled Rafati’s death an accident, saying he died of injuries suffered in the crash, according to the medical examiner’s office. He lived in Tinley Park.
Matteson police did not immediately respond to a request for details about the crash.
