920 deaths in Merseyside region as thousands more test positive

Liverpool and the wider city region has been hugely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Our part of the country has suffered disproportionately from the effects of Covid-19 in terms of infections and deaths.

While the government is preparing to announce some easing of lockdown restrictions this weekend, there are real fears that a second spike could plunge places like Merseyside back into the thick of coronavirus chaos.

The reality of the situation we still face was revealed yesterday when our region's hospitals confirmed a further 23 virus deaths.

Ahead of the potential changes, we have taken a look at the full picture of the virus across our region.

Across Liverpool various hospitals, there have been 368 deaths from people confirmed to have the virus.

The breakdown for each Trust is as follows.

Liverpool University Hospitals Teaching Trust - 338
