92-year-old man dies after Yarralumla car accident

A 92-year-old man has died following a car accident in Yarralumla.

The incident happened on Thursday about 1pm.

Police said the 92-year-old man was driving the car, which collided with a tree on Hopetoun Circuit. The road was closed for several hours on Thursday.

The man was taken to Canberra Hospital with significant injuries. He died in hospital on Saturday.

He is the seventh person to die on ACT's roads this year.

The incident is being investigated by ACT Policing's Collision Investigation and Reconstruction and a report will be prepared for the ACT Coroner.

Police have urged anybody with dash-cam footage of the area at the time of the accident to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or visit the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
