911 call indicates Bucs' Jason Pierre-Paul's red Ferrari 'did a 360,' and hit a wall on I-95

TAMPA, Fla. _ A 911 call by Jason Pierre-Paul and a witness to his accident May 2 indicates the Bucs defensive end lost control of his red Ferrari and hit a wall on I-95 near the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Pierre-Paul can be heard telling a dispatcher for the Florida Highway Patrol he is not injured but needs help removing his vehicle.

"Hey, I'm on the middle of the highway and I'm by the Fort Lauderdale airport, International Boulevard by the sign Davie Boulevard and my car just did a 360 in the middle of the road and I'm headed south. I mean north," Pierre-Paul said in a 911 call obtained by Slaterscoops.com.

Pierre-Paul was asked if his vehicle struck anything.

"Yeah, I hit the median, but I'm OK," Pierre-Paul said. "It's right in the middle. It has to be moved or a cop has to come or somebody is going to hit it."

Pierre-Paul and his passenger, James Thompson, were taken to the hospital around 3 a.m., the report says.

Although Pierre-Paul said he was not injured during the 911 call, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that further evaluation by specialists hired by the Bucs revealed he has a fractured neck and may require surgery. If so, it could be a season-ending injury.

At the very least, Pierre-Paul is out indefinitely pending further evaluation.

Road conditions may have contributed to the accident because it was raining.

A female witness who called 911 to report the accident said the Ferrari hit a wall while traveling southbound and that there was debris on the road.

"He hit a wall," the witness said. "A Ferrari, it's a sports car. It's red. Because it's raining."

When asked if the vehicle was blocking the road, the witness said, "Yes, they're in the middle of the road and a car is going to hit it. Please hurry."

An initial report by TMZ said Pierre-Paul was driving an SUV and that the accident occurred around 5 a.m.
