Some 900 children are living in 26 family hubs largely located across the capital, a new report has revealed.
The report by Dr Niall Muldoon revealed that children living in such conditions experience shame and anger.
Parents also said that they were concerned about the impact of the hubs had on their children’s mental health.
Dr Muldoon reported that the Government are currently spending more than €100 million on such accommodation.

Such hubs are used as temporary homeless accommodation for families instead of accommodating them in hotels and B&Bs alongside homeless adults.
Dr Muldoon told RTE’s Morning Ireland: "We need to evaluate it, we need to have standards, we need to have consistency, and we need to know what the final product is coming out of this.
“Even one year in there is a huge chunk of a child's life, and we need to know that it's going to be done the right way."
