90 year old man seriously injured after north Leeds crash

A 90-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a car crash in north Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police say the pensioner was driving a blue Peugeot 108 and he collided with a traffic island, at around 3.15pm on Wednesday, June 17.

The collision happened near the junction to King Lane Park and Ride, next to Allerton High School in King Lane, Alwoodley.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

In a statement, police said: "Anyone who witnessed the circumstances of the collision itself or saw the vehicle being driven in the area in the time leading up to it is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit via 101 quoting collision reference 13200303146 or online."
