It’s Oscars day, baby! And unlike the dumpster fire that was the Golden Globes (ah, memories), the 2021 Academy Awards is actually, mostly in-person. What a concept! The red carpet is underway and the stars are out to play. Enter nine-year-old Minari star Alan S. Kim, who has stolen all of our hearts.
The wee legend has already scooped up a slew of awards, including a Critics Choice Award, for his role as David in the Oscar-nominated film. But while Kim himself isn’t nominated for an Oscar today, he did absolutely bring it on the red carpet.
“It’s time for the Oscars, but first I have to walk Cream,” Kim posted ahead of the red carpet.
Who is Cream, you ask? HIS GORGEOUS DOG.

Kim rocked the red carpet with Minari producer Christina Oh, and I cannot deal with the way he posed. The kid stole the show, that is all.
Minari is nominated for a number of Oscars, including best actor for my husband Steven Yeun, best actress in a supporting role for Yuh-Jung Youn, best director for Lee Isaac Chung, and best picture (!!!). It’s also nominated for best music (original score) and best writing (original screenplay).
That’s six chances at a tiny gold man, so surely Minari will scoop up at least one of ’em. SURELY.
As an aside, it looked like Kim had a very wholesome ninth birthday if this Insta post is anything to go by.
A star is born.
The 93rd Academy Awards is airing live on Channel 7 and 7plus on Monday, 26 April at 10am, with a prime time encore at 9.30pm. Love a solid encore.
