9 teams who have had multiple Heisman winners at same time

Heisman Trophy winners on the same team happen fairly infrequently. This season, however, a pair of Heisman winners will be on two teams as the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans each have a couple.

The Baltimore Ravens will feature a pair of Heisman winners in their backfield this season. Lamar Jackson (Louisville, 2016) is joined by Mark Ingram (Alabama, 2009).

The Tennessee Titans also have a pair of Heisman Trophy winners in their backfield. At quarterback is Marcus Mariota (Oregon, 2014) and at RB is Derrick Henry (Alabama, 2015).

The Dallas Cowboys had two legendary college players in the backfield in the ’80s. Tony Dorsett (Pittsburgh, 1976) was on the roster along with Herschel Walker (Georgia, 1982)

The Raiders had multiple Heisman winners on the team at two times. The 1988, 1989 and 1990 Los Angeles Raiders featured Marcus Allen (USC, 1981), Bo Jackson (Auburn,1985) and Tim Brown (Notre Dame, 1987).

And … The 1998 Oakland Raiders featured Tim Brown (ND, 1987), Desmond Howard (Michigan, 1991) and Charles Woodson (Michigan, 1997).

Have to go way back for the Chiefs’ trio of Heisman winners. In 1970, KC had Billy Cannon (LSU, 1959), John Huarte (Notre Dame, 1964) and Mike Garrett (USC, 1965).

Philadelphia Eagles

This one comes with an asterisk as they were both in training camp together. Tim Tebow (Florida, 2007) and Sam Bradford (Oklahoma, 2008) were Eagles together for a short time in 2015.

Detroit Lions, I

Barry Sanders (Oklahoma State, 1988) and Andre Ware (Houston, 1989) played for the Detroit Lions. Their careers were polar opposites as Sanders remains one of the best backs of all-time, while Ware was one of the biggest busts.

It was a far different time, but the Lions did draft back-to-back Heisman winners and neither signed with them. The 1936 winner (Larry Kelley, Yale) and 1937 winner (Clinton Frank, Yale) both passed on the opportunity to play professionally.

Toronto Argonauts

The one that is easily forgettable is the CFL version of multiple Heisman winners Ricky Williams (Texas, 1998) and Eric Crouch (Nebraska, 2001) were members of the Argonauts in 2006.
