9,869 new Covid cases, 92 deaths Tuesday

Thailand logged 9,869 new Covid-19 cases and 92 more fatalities during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Tuesday.

There were 9,596 cases in the general population and 273 among prison inmates.

The number of new cases fell from the 9,930 announced on Monday, when the country recorded 97 more deaths.

On Monday, 11,152 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.

Since April 1, when the third wave of Covid-19 began, Thailand has treated 1,628,368 Covid-19 patients, 1,504,229 of whom have recovered to date.

Since the pandemic started early last year, there have been 1,657,231 Covid-19 cases, with 1,531,655 complete recoveries so far.

The death toll stood at 17,109 during the third wave and 17,203 since the beginning of the pandemic.
