9,445 new Covid cases, 84 deaths Tuesday

There were 9,445 new Covid-19 cases and 84 more fatalities recorded during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Tuesday morning.

There were 9,244 cases in the general population and 201 among prison inmates.

The number of new cases fell from the 10,035 announced on Monday, when the country recorded 60 more deaths.

On Monday, 11,452 Covid-19 patients left hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.

Since April 1, when the third wave of Covid-19 began, Thailand has treated 1,701,501 Covid-19 patients, 1,576,929 of whom have recovered to date.

Since the pandemic started early last year, there have been 1,730,364 Covid-19 cases, with 1,604,355 complete recoveries so far.

The death toll stood at 17,741 during the third wave and 17,835 since the beginning of the pandemic.
