Its parts can be swapped out to suit the player's preferred playstyle or the game they're currently playing. These swappable parts include silicone or micro-switch ABXY button modules, Standard or Circular D-Pads, and two Tall joysticks, one Thick-neck joystick, and one Dome joystick.
Other major highlights include wider and tougher silicone grips for improved ergonomics, an integrated wireless charging dock, remappable extra shoulder buttons (marked R4 and L4), and improved controls thanks to its TMR Joysticks with 12-bit ADC sampling chips, Hall Effect Impulse Triggers with Two Trigger Stops.
On top of that, the 8BitDo Ultimate 3E Controller also has 2.4G Wireless connectivity compatibility on Xbox and Windows PC with low latency, customizable 6-Axis Motion Controls, and a whopping polling rate of 1000Hz on PC regardless if you're using it in wired or wireless mode.

When can we expect to try the 8BitDo Ultimate 3E Controller for Xbox?

If you're attending CES 2026 in person this week at the LVCC Central Hall in Las Vegas, you will be able to get a hands-on preview of this controller by attending Booth #15641.
For those of us who can't attend the event, we will have to wait until it's released during Q2 of 2026. We'll be sure to keep an eye out when this new controller gets released and what it'll be priced at.
