With Black Friday and Christmas looming, retailers are gearing up for what should be their busiest period - and they are looking for staff to help them cope.
For example, Argos has vacancies for 86 new team members in Widnes as it prepares for its busiest time of the year.
The new recruits will be the first point of contact for the millions of customers who shop with Argos every week, responding to queries about products, orders and deliveries, including through Argos's online LiveChat service and its social media channels. New team members will receive comprehensive training.
As well as handling Argos customer enquiries, the customer management team also responds to queries relating to Habitat and Sainsbury's Tu clothing ranges that are available through the Argos website.
Chris Stroud, director of Customer Management Centres at Argos, said: "Our new recruits will be pivotal in ensuring that our service in the build up to Black Friday and Christmas is as helpful and efficient as it is throughout the rest of the year.
"Providing great customer service is at the heart of what we do at Argos and that's why we're looking for 86 helpful and enthusiastic people to join our Widnes team to deliver our fantastic service at the most exciting and busiest time of the year.
"The work is fast-paced, varied and rewarding with the potential to learn a whole set of new skills."
