8 Things To Do In Sydney & Melbourne This Spring That’ll End Your Winter Hibernation
It’s happening. The sun is shining. Our bodies are thawing. My bad attitude is melting. Spring is finally back, baby!
To celebrate, we’ve rounded up a bunch of delightful events happening in Sydney and Melbourne so you can re-stock your calendar to all its former (pre-winter) glory. From flower festivals to markets and musicals, there’s stacks of things to do.
Psst: a pro tip? To efficiently zip all around the city this spring, try driving around in a Suzuki Fronx Hybrid. It’s a coupe-SUV, so compact enough to zip around busy city streets with a smart ‘Heads-Up’ display to project things like directions above the wheel. Fancy schmancy!
So, without further ado, behold: your spring to-do list.
Melbourne
Tesselaar Tulip Festival

It’s less than an hour to drive from Melbourne to Tesselar Flower Farm, so grab some pals and turn it into a little road trip. You can even bring pups on leads!

This is not a drill: it’s that glorious time of year when cherry blossoms are briefly in bloom. In other words: now’s your chance! Don’t mess it up!
Drive an hour west to Melbourne’s CherryHill Orchard for Blossom By Light, and feast your eyes upon those beautiful blossoms. The white petals will be illuminated at night throughout this weekend for a colourful twist on the experience.
BTW – the below TikTok is last year, but expect similar vibes (and beauty, ofc).
@girlaboutmelb @CherryHill Orchards are hosting their first evening event, Blossom by Light! Best to bring your gum boots if there’s a chance of rain! 🌧️ Gates open at 5.30pm, with the show starting at sunset (approx 6.20pm). Rent
September 27 – November 1 2025
I’ll give you five hundred, twenty-five thousand, and six hundred reasons to see this musical. First, it’s at the Opera House, which is the ultimate venue.
Second, it follows a group of diverse artists and activists in New York through a year of love, friendship, and tragedy.
Third, I guarantee you know the songs already. So, that’s three down — I’ll give you the other five hundred, twenty-five thousand and five hundred and ninety-seven reasons later, ok?
@theatricallyalex That set though 🤩 A little BTS from RENT Australia’s media call and opening night! 🎭 You have to see this show JUST to see Take Me or Leave Me 🥹 @QPAC @RENT Musical AU #renthemusical #RENTmusicalau #theatretok #theatrekid #aussietheatre #australianmusicaltheatre #brisbanetheatre #melbournetheatre #seasonsoflove ♬ Storytelling – Adriel
